Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration across IT teams. You'll help maintain existing systems while contributing to modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom Java applications
  • Lead and contribute to multiple development projects
  • Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
  • Collaborate with architects to ensure best practices and quality standards
  • Support in-house applications, including troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Participate in application architecture, deployment, and environment management
  • Assist with software releases, upgrades, and production support (including on-call as needed)


Experience & Technical Requirements
  • Experience:
    Five (5) years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of large- and medium-scale systems required. Five (5) years of demonstrated experience with Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring Framework, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies required.
  • Demonstrated successful experience with the following technologies is required:
    • Model View Controller (MVC) architecture
    • Spring Framework (Boot, WebMVC, Data, Security, and related modules)
    • Client-side technologies including JavaScript (jQuery), AJAX, and JSON
    • JPA with Hibernate or MyBatis
    • Legacy JSP and J2EE frameworks
    • Object-Oriented Analysis and Object-Oriented Design methodologies
    • Adherence to Agile or Waterfall Software Development Lifecycle methodologies
    • Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent database technology
  • Demonstrated successful experience with the following technologies is preferred:
    • WildFly or similar application server in a clustered and/or load-balanced environment
    • JMS, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar middleware technologies
    • Continuous integration and delivery automation using Hudson/Jenkins or similar tools
    • Lifecycle management tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence or similar
  • Comprehensive understanding of systems and applications to provide practical solutions that consider system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and overall cost to develop and maintain.
  • Experience with intranet and internet application development and implementation required.


Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements for this office role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, typically up to 8 hours a day, and regularly operate standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Employees should be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally and frequently perform tasks that require typing, writing, and document handling. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with adequate visual and auditory abilities to read materials and participate in meetings.
