Position Summary:
The Compliance Specialist - Examinations & Audits is responsible for assisting the Compliance Department with compliance issues for the COMPANY'S Corporate and Retail Branch operations, including but not limited to researching in ALLREGS for federal and state laws, drafting internal standard operating procedures, preparing compliance reports and conducting internal compliance audits.
Essential Job Functions:
Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct periodic internal audits of various aspects of mortgage originations.
- Assist in the external audit process.
- Assists in advising Operations Staff on all compliance matters to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Effectively communicate, work with, and build relationships with all levels of constituents including culturally and linguistically diverse staff members and external candidates and/or vendors, while operating in a fast-paced customer service-driven environment.
- Complete external/internal audits in a timely manner.
- Develop policies and procedures responsive to Compliance Department needs.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to assist with title issues.
- Conducts internal audits of loan originations.
- Develops, and coordinates implementation of policies and procedures necessary to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations relating to the origination of consumer residential mortgage loans.
- Create related systems and procedures to ensure uniform compliance.
- Research and development of forms required for new or amended programs, including form changes mandated by the various state and federal agencies.
- Perform internal audit reviews, including the review, documentation of audit findings and identification of causes or contributing factors relating to risk exposure.
- Provide recommendations to senior management based on audit findings.
- Assists with monthly external audit reviews, including the reporting functions, loan delivery, report findings analysis, findings dissemination to senior management, creating the manage response letter, assists in corrective action implementation.

- Work closely with corporate department managers to ensure compliant procedures and policies are in place and adhered to.
- The Compliance Specialist is expected to maintain satisfactory attendance and report to work on time every day.
Required Job Functions: Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure that branches are following agency, state and federal regulations and requirements.
- Review trends of customer-related inquiries or complaints made through internal processes and regulatory agencies to ensure that appropriate departments/individuals respond in a timely and appropriate manner with regard to compliance-related issues.
- This position may require occasional overtime and travel.
- Additional tasks as assigned.

Additional Information: The range provided reflects the expected compensation for this role and is considered a general guideline. Actual compensation will be decided based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience assessed during the interview process, and internal pay equity. Compensation may also include incentives such as per-file bonuses and discretionary bonuses as applicable to the role.
