We are seeking geologists to support federal projects with agencies such as EPA, USACE, and DOE. The geologist independently conducts moderate to highly complex field investigations, oversees drilling operations, and collects geologic and environmental data. Ensure data quality and project compliance.
Job duties include: planning and conducting geologic and environmental investigations; conducting drilling and logging for moderate to highly complex projects; logging soil/rock cores and preparing boring logs per ASTM/USCS standards; collecting and managing environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory analysis; installing and maintaining groundwater monitoring wells/instrumentation; preparing technical field notes, logs, and support documentation; attending progress meetings; and performing other duties as assigned.
This is a pipeline requisition for future project hires.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred qualifications include a PG (professional geologist) license, knowledge of the unified soil classification system for logging soils, 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification with 8-hour annual refresher training which is up to date, 8-hour supervisory training, 30-hour OSHA construction industry safety class, and current CPR/FA/AED certification.

Pay range minimum: $78,624.
Pay range maximum: $157,248.
Additional compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
